"You mean Dawnwing going on the journey? I don't know. She seems to have all the cats hating her right now with the Jetstar business. You can visit her and tell her some news, if you'd like." Spiritsoar said, twining her tail with his. "I'll be waiting for you."
He nodded. "She desearves to prove she can do great things, and Wavestar has some other things she can do to prove herslef." He walked into Dawnwing's dream. She was near a river hunting. "Hey Dawnwing!" Jayfire called, being careful where he stepped. This place was unfamiliar, the worest place a blind cat could be.
Dawnwing looked up, her nose twitching. She caught sight of Jayfire and growled. "Don't worry, I'm a Starclan cat." He said. Dawnwing looked up and then hesitated. "Are you blind?" She asked. Jayfire held himself back from growling. "Yes..." he replied calmly. "I have a proposition for you."
Dawnwing thought it over for a moment. "Go on," she moewed. "Floods are coming to your territory. I have choosen certain cats to lead your clan to safety. You are one of them. I trust you, Spottedfire, Silverpaw, Nightclaw, Snakestripe, and Sunclaw to do just that. Talk to Spottedfire about what you've never talked about before because this is the time to do so. Show the cats that you are someone, with loyaltys."
Dawnwing bit her tongue. "Floods are coming? From where?" She asked. "There is a dam on the other side of the Twoleg farm- soon it will explode." "Where do I lead the clans?" Dawnwing asked, her tail swishing back and forth. "Beyond the mountains."
Dawnwing looked at the blind cat as if he was crazy. "This is Wavestar's will," Jayfire said before Dawnwing could open her jaws. "This is going to play a big roll in WaveClan's history. Be careful," he meowed, and walked into the mists of Dawnwing's dreams.
Jayfire finally made it to Sunclaw's dream. "Hello Sunclaw."
Silverpaw to go, Spottedfire and Snakestripe too, this will bond them even more closer then they already are. Nightclaw because she needs one last adventure before she becomes an elder, and Sunclaw to prove his loyalty.
Sunclaw met up with Dawnwing. "Hey, Dawnwing." Dawnwing looked up to find Sunclaw looking at her. "Yes, Sunclaw?" "Did Jayfire and Spiritsoar come talk to you?" "Yes- Jayfire." She said. "Are we going to take the clans to the mountains?" "No- not yet. First we have to find a safe place. We can't blindly lead around the clans. Besides, the other clans won't trust us." "This like the great journey long ago." Dawnwing said excitedly. "Except... all the cats are from Waveclan. Do we lead Waveclan away or ALL the clans?" Sunclaw's tail swished. "I'm not sure... Jayfire said our clan, but all the clans are in peril. I wonder if other cats from their clans got dreams." "Let's hope so." Dawnwing whispered. "Let's go talk to Snakestripe and Spottedfire." "And Silverpaw? He won't want to leave Cinderpaw and Briarpaw behind in this adventure." "I'll talk to him."Dawnwing said.
Silverpaw just came back from hunting, dropping fresh kill in the pile. Dawnwing then padded to him. "Hey Silverpaw-" "The dream," he meowed. "I've had it too." He felt awkward talking to Dawnwing. Did she still like his father? More importantly, did his father still like her?
"I'm hungry. I'm uh, gonna go get something to eat," Silverpaw muttered, walking over to freshkill and selecting a blackbird. Dawnwing sighed. How would she ever earn the trust of the other cats on the journey? She went over to talk to Starwing in the medicine den. -Sunbeam
Seeing Starwing was busy, Dawnwing silently backed out and ran into Sunbeam. "Oh, hey Sunbeam!" Dawnwing politely greeted her. "Hi Dawnwing. I've heard this rumor that you and some other cats have had this dream about a journey from Starclan. Is that true?" Sunbeam asked, clearly interested. "I don't know much yet, but that's the rumor," Dawnwing laughed. Sunbeam smiled. 'Maybe she won't criticize me about Jetstar. I mean, that was a long time ago, I hope she won't,' Dawnwing thought. "You seem hungry. Do you want to go get some breakfast?" Sunbeam asked. Dawnwing nodded and Sunbeam picked out a juicy rabbit and Dawnwing selected a thrush. They sat down beside and began to eat. After a quick chat Jetstream came over. "Hey Sunbeam, can you organize a border patrol? I'm busy and Scarheart is out on hunting patrol with Cinderpaw and Petalbreeze," Jetstar asked her. "Sure! How many cats do you want me to take?" Sunbeam asked. "5 total. Yesterday Scarheart reported Flameclan scent on our territory. We don't want trouble," Jetstar explained, heading to the nursery to check on Riverheart. The patrol ended up being Sunbeam, Dawnwing, Puddlesplash, Briarpaw, and Cinderpaw. "Fresh Flameclan scent," Puddlesplash sniffed. "What do we do?" Briarpaw asked. "Puddlesplash, take Dawnwing and Briarpaw and finish patrolling. Cinderpaw and I will thoroughly check the Flameclan border for any other signs. Meet back at the Sunrock when you're finished. If we don't come back, or if you hear any cries for help, don't hesitate to come looking for us," Sunbeam instructed. Puddlesplash nodded and they went off in the different directions. Just then, Cinderpaw heard a rustle in the bushes ahead of them. -Sunbeam
Sunbeam growled and dodged it as the fox tried to pounce on top of her. "Cinderpaw! Go get the others!" Sunbeam yelled, doing her best to fight off the fox. Cinderpaw darted through the forest when he practically slammed into Puddlesplash. "Fox! Sunbeam needs help fighting it!" Cinderpaw panted. They stopped their patroling and went to help. When they got there, there was not just one fox. The one Sunbeam had been fighting had been a baby. There was now a mother and an older sibling there too, rounding up on Sunbeam. -Sunbeam

They did their best to fight off the foxes, but couldn't quite do it. All of a sudden, a massive tom sprang out of the bushes, and the foxes sprinted away. They all gasped. "Who are you?" Dawnwing asked, confused. "I'm Mud," Mud answered. "And... are you a kittypet? A rogue?" Dawnwing tried to get more information. "I'm a loner. My parents drowned when I was around 6 moons old and I was left to take care of my little sister, Fawn. Those foxes and I have met before. Around 8 moons, they tried to attack Fawn, but I fought them off," Mud explained. "All by yourself?" Puddlesplash looked suprised. Mud nodded. "She's all I had," Mud said blankly. "What do you mean... had?" Briarpaw asked. "When she was old enough to start hunting, we went out and mistaking it for something edible, she ate deathberries..and well... when I came it was too late," Mud teared up, remembering the tragedy. "I'm sorry for your loss," Sunbeam said sympathetically, lightly resting her tail on his shoulder. "Anyway, I'm glad you're all okay. If it hadn't been for your clanmates, you would've been ripped to shreds," Mud said to Sunbeam. Sunbeam blushed, "Well that's the beauty of clanmates and the random appearances of loners." -Sunbeam
"I should probably get going, I don't want to hold up your patrol," Mud said. "We are pretty much finished, and we owe you one for helping us. Do you want to come back to camp? Just for a little bit," Sunbeam offered. "Sure," Mud smiled. They walked back to camp and Wolfshade, who was on guard duty, growled, "Who's the loner who decided to show up?" "This is Mud, we were attacked by foxes and he 'saved the day' by scaring them off, we are just returning the favor by letting him stay for a little bit," Sunbeam explained. "Just for today, if he stays any longer, I don't know how Jetstar would react," Wolfshade warned, returning to her post. -Sunbeam
As they walked to the fresh-kill pile, spats of confusion and, "Who the heck is he? Attack!" And every time Sunbeam would have to explain what happened in the forest. Then, Jetstar approached them. -Sunbeam
His voice didnt sound threatening when he talked, but his eyes told a different story. "Sunbeam, whos this?" he said, looking at Mud. "uh, Jetstar, this is Mud. When we were attacked by foxes he came and scared them off." Sunbeam explained. Jetstar looked taken aback at that news but quickly recovered. "were you going to tell me about that whole incident soon? or were you just going to forget about the whole thing." he mewed, his tail flicking aggitatedly from side to side. Sunbeam remained silent at that comment. "And, were you planning on telling me about Mud anytime soon?" he pressed on, irritated that he wasnt informed of anything until now.
"It was just one cat, and- I was going to tell you," Sunbeam muttered. "You should've told me immediately, I'm very disappointed, I thought you knew better than that," Jetstar scolded. Sunbeam teared up and ran back behind the warrior's den. "It's time for you to go Mud, you can show yourself out," Jetstar spat, padding back to his den. -Sunbeam
Foxtrot was eating a mouse when he saw Sunbeam run off behind the warriors den. He cocked his head to the side as he got up. 'whats wrong with her?' he wondered as he trotted over. "hey, Sunbeam?" he started to say. "go away!" Sunbeam growled. "It's just me, Foxtrot!!" he said, flicking his tail as he came to sit beside her.
Sunbeam hid her face. "What's wrong?" Foxtrot asked gently, putting his tail on her flank. "It's Mud. Jetstar was really rude to him, even when he saved us from the foxes." "I know. Jetstar's very sensitive about loners and roughs coming into camp. He fears they'll join the clan." Foxtrot said. "Well I don't think there's anything wrong with that." Spat Sunbeam. "Thunderclan did that and look where they turned out." Foxtrot looked at Sunbeam gently. "Mud will be fine, trust me."
"He can take care of himself. Besides, if he wanted to join a clan theres always Grassclan and Flameclan to turn to. Barkclans not really an option... theyre too aggressive..." Foxtrot mewed, getting off-topic. "hey, did you know that Jetstar's from Barkclan? he got exiled from there for doin somethin... I forget what..." he added, this time getting completely off-topic.
"Well, I don't want to know what he did in Barkclan, he's the leader of Wvaeclan now" Sunbeam said. "Right, sorry, I get carried away sometimes" Foxtrot said. "I can see that" Sunbeam sniffed. "Anyway, where's Mud?" he asked. "Don't know, he's prbably left the camp" Sunbeam said sadly.
Unfortunatly for Mud, Jetstar did see him. "So, Mud," the leader said, trying to keep calm, his eyes betraying his feelings. "You're still here" Jetstar said coldly. "Well, I am-" Mud tried to said. "You had been told to leave before! So, leave me and my clan alone!" Jetstar snarled. "But I helped-" "Yes, I know that you helped, and mow it's your time to leave!" Jetstar spat.
Jetstar lashed his tail a couple times, eyes blazing. "I told you to leave. We appreciate you're help with the foxes but we arent just some refuge for lone cats." he growled.
"I already told you to leave. We appreciate what you did with the foxes, but Waveclan isnt just a place for loners seeking refuge. Now go." Jetstar growled, his tailtip flicking back and forth.
"You won't hear the end of me, Jetstar," Mud growled threatiningly, padding away. "Petalbreeze! Graywhisker! Follow Mud to make sure he's really gone," Jetstar instructed. The two she-cats nodded and stalked after him. "It's going to be okay Sunbeam," Foxtrot smiled, "do you want to go get something to eat?" "Sure," Sunbeam perked up, following Foxtrot. -Sunbeam
When Petalbreeze and Graywhisker came back. Jetstar demanded, "Is he gone?" "Yes" Petalbreeze said. "That mouse-brain" Jetstar muttered. "Hey, Silverhail, you want to come hunting with me?" Swiftfoot asked, nervously.
"Sure," Silverhail blushed, flattered. On their way out Jetstream called, "Be careful! A recent sighting of foxes is not good! Do you want any other cats to go with you just in case?" "No, we'll be fine," Swiftfoot quickly replied, obviously wanting alone time with Silverhail. Jetstream nodded and returned to his clan, and they went off into the forest. -Sunbeam
"So, where-" Silverhail started to asked Swiftfoot, only to be interupted. "Silverhail, I just want to tell you that I l-l-love you!" Swiftfoot blurted out, before he could stop himself. Silverhail looked at Swiftfoot. Then there was a awkward silence. "I love you too" she said finally.
"Truly?" Swiftfoot's eyes lit up. "Truly," Silverhail pressed her flank against his lightly. "Silverhail I just want to let you know that no matter what happens I will always be there for you," Swiftfoot promised. "I know," Silverhail rested her tail on his spine and enjoyed the moment. "Right now though, we should probably get some prey," she said, getting up, "Jetstar is expecting something. Bet that I can run to the Tree Everglades before you!" Swiftfoot laughed and bounded after her. Staying true to his name, Swiftfoot got there before Silverhail. They rolled on their backs in laughter, and just then Silverhail squeaked in pain. "What's wrong?" Swiftfoot stopped giggling, looking at her with deep concern. "I don't know, something sharp landed on my back," Silverhail winced, moving so Swiftfoot could take a look at it. "I'm no medicine cat, but it looks like a thorn cut you pretty deep. We should probably get you to Starwing. I'll help you get there if you need it," Swiftfoot said. "The pain is getting to my legs," Silverhail cried, collapsing. Swiftfoot carried her on his back back to the medicine den. "What is it, Starwing," Swiftfoot said impatiently, pacing the den. "Well, it looks like this suprisingly big thorn cut into her spine and messed with her ability to walk," Starwing explained, "she'll be cooped in for a while, but as long as we're careful, chances are she'll be back on her feet, but I can't guarantee anything." "so you're saying she could be- paralyzed?" Swiftfoot tryed to take in all the chilling information. "A very slim chance, but we have to be careful," Starwing looked down at a drowsy Silverhail, eyes full of worry for the patient. -Sunbeam
(Poor me! LOL) "Is she okay?" Sunbeam asked anxiously. "I don't know" Swiftfoot admitted. "Starwing said that she might be paralyzed" "OMG! That's horrible!" "I know" "Sorry, saying that would not help" Swiftfoot shrugged and walked into the warriors den. Sunbeam stood there. Maybe she could visit Silverhail? She decided to go to Starwing's den and ask. "Starwing?" "What's up Sunbeam?" "Can I see Silverhail?" "Sorry Sunbeam, but not today. She needs some rest" "Right. Bye!" "Bye!" Sunbeam walked out of the den. "You look worried. Are you okay?" a voice said behind her. Sunbeam swung around to see Foxtrot standing there. "Oh, um, I fine. Just a bit worried, don't worry" she assured him.
{lol, my character said OMG) "You sure? You seem really shaky. What happened?" Foxtrot asked. "Well, Silverhail got hurt today, and she might be paralyzed, so i'm just hoping she'll get better," Sunbeam admitted. "I understand. If someone close to me got hurt, I'd be freaking out," Foxtrot laughed, but had a serious tone in his voice, staring at sunbeam. She shuffled her paws in embarrasment and Foxtrot smiled. "Do you want to get something to eat?" he finally broke the silence. Sunbeam nodded and they went over to the fresh-kill pile. -Sunbeam
"Are you saying that I'm never going to be on my feet again, Starwing?" Silverhail wailed in despair. "I am sorry, Silverhail, but yes, that's exactly what I mean" Starwing answered, just as sad as the patient. "Then what's the point of living?" Silverhail demanded. "Remember that Briarlight from ThunderClan helped with the herbs, and she still lived" Starwing remind her gently. "But that was different! She broke her back-bone so she couldn't feel her hind legs, I am paralyzed but I can still feel my legs, I just can't move them!" Silverhail cried. "Do you want to see Swiftfoot?" "Oh yes, please!" "Alright then, Swiftfoot! Swiftfoot!! SWIFTFOOT!!!" "What's up?" Swiftfoot asked poking his head through the Starwing's den. "I can't walk, run and hunt again!" Silverhail told him before Starwing could speak. "Is that true?" Swiftfoot said, turning to the medicine cat. Starwing nodded slowly. "No!" he cried, sitting himself next to Silverhail. "You prbably hate me now" Silverhail said blankly. "Of course not!" "But I am useless to Wvaeclan!" "But I still love you. Like Snakestripe never stopped loving Spottedfire when she is captured by the two-legs" "Well, that's different as well! Spottedfire could actually help the clan when she comes back, and I can't do anything!" "But-" "Swiftfoot, that's enough talk for today, now please get out" Starwing said firmly. "STARCLAN!!! WHY HAVE YOU LET THIS HAPPEN TO ME!!! DO YOU WANT TO MAKE ME UNHAPPY JUST BECAUSE I WAS A LONER BEFORE I JOINED THIS CLAN??!!"
Silverhail yelled, after Swiftfoot went out. "Silverhail, you should get some sleep, here" Starwing said gently but firmly as she gave Silverhail some poppy seeds.

Starwing
I stared at Silvergail, pain plaguing my every fiber. As a medicine cat, I see depressing stuff all the time, but this... a cat would never be able to walk, or run, or play, or even hunt. It was horrible! If only the birds of sadness would stop nesting in my heart... they loved to make me feel miserable. Ever since Sandbreeze died, everything got harder and harder and harder... no. I couldn't zone out on my patient, not when she needs me! "Okay, Silverhail, start with these," I said as I handed her a pawful of herbs. "This will..." I hesitated. "Possibly do something. I think." I started checking her legs some more, only too find out she could only move from her waist upward, tail included. By now I was making stuff up as I went, doing more experiments than anything else, more tests than results. And it was all leading to a dead end. A dead end where Silverhail would never walk again. And I hated it.
Honeyblaze (Just came back from squad swimming! Sooooo tired!)
As Silverhail's sister, I was more worried than anyone. More than Sunbeam and more than Swiftfoot. I wasn't fair for the thorn to have hit Silverhail! It just wasn't! "Is she okay?" I asked Starwing. Starwing looked at me with sad green eyes. "No" she said hoarsely. "But-" I said rising my voice. "Shhh" Starwing said sweeping her tail over my mouth. "She's sleeping" she hissed, flicking her tail at Silverhail who was asleep in the corner of the medicine cat's den. I sighed and walked away to the warrior's den and found sleeping in his nest. "Hey!" I hissed in his ear and poked him with my paw. "Wake up!"
(Oh, and, BTW: I will put on an attack or something so Silverhail can die! What's the point of living if she can't walk?) (Actually, it's up to whoever posts, cuz I don't really care!)
When Starwing settled down in her moss, and fell asleep, she found herself in a starry environment with familiar cats. 'Starclan,' Starwing realized. Just then she saw a cat walk slowly towards her. "Who are you?" Starwing asked. "My name is Briarlight, you probably know my story from Thunderclan," Briarlight greeted. "yes but waht about-" Starwing stared at Briarlight's perfectly working hind legs. "Oh, they cured when I came to Starclan. Believe it or not I'm still getting used to it," Briarlight laughed. "So what did you bring me here for?" Starwing asked urgently. "Yes, about your patient, Silverhail. There is a way to heal her," Briarlight told her. "There is? How?" Starwing's eyes filled with urgency. "There is a rare plant in the mountains, the ice flower. It only grows in snow patches, and if chewed into a pulp with poppy seeeds and marigold, it can heal Silverhail," Briarlight explained. "How are we supposed to get it? And what does it looks like?" Starwing asked. "It has ice-frosted ivy-like petals and an unusually black stem. The ice won't melt," Briarlight explained, "sent out a patrol of cats into the mountains to find the ice flower, and then bring it back to Silverhail. I must warn you though, once picked from the ground, the ice flower's healing power will only be active for ten sunrises, then the ice will melt and its power will be useless." "Thank you Briarlight," Starwing ended as the vision turned into blacknes and Starwing opened her eyes. -Sunbeam
(Wow Sunbeam! How did you think of the ice flower??? LOL)
"So you are saying, Starwing we need to send a patrol to the mountains?" said who-ever the leader was. "Yes, it's our only hope to get Silverhail walking again" "But-" "No! I am the medicine cat! Silverhail is my responsibility! You will never understand!" "Then that's it then, five cats will go to the mountains"
The leader and Starwing discussed who they thought should go on the journey and when their decision was final the leader stepped out of his/her den and called a clan meeting. AFter Starwing explained her dream about the ice flower, she said 5 cats have been chosen to take the journey. "We have decided to take Foxtrot, Sunbeam, Swiftfoot, Briarstep, and Rowanpaw. You will leave in the morning, so rest well so you can get up early. When you get up, go to the medicine den to get your traveling herbs. That is all," the leader stepped down. -Sunbeam
"T-t-the mountains?" Silverhail said softly. "Yes, is there something wrong?" Starwing asked gently. "But, why take Swiftfoot? I had a friend when I was a loner who ventured into the mountains, she......she never came back" Silverhail told her. "But Swiftfoot wanted to do it for you, Silverhail. You have Honeyblaze with you here at camp, they will come back safely" Starwing assured her.
The next morning, Swiftfoot was the first to wake up. He followed orders and headed to the medicine den, where Starwing was preparing the traveling herbs. "Knock knock," Swiftfoot said as he came in. "Oh good, you're up. Here," Starwing handed him a bundle of weird smelling herbs. "Don't take it until some of the other travelers are up. We don't want yours to wear off before everyone else's," she warned. "Alright," Swiftfoot set the bundle down and went over to Silverhail, who was just waking up. "Hey," he greeted softly. "Swiftfoot!" Silverhail smiled, "thank you for doing this." "I would do anything for you Silverhail, you know that," Swiftfoot assured her. Silverhail blushed, just as Sunbeam and Foxtrot walked in, followed by Rowanpaw and Briarstep. Starwing handed out the traveling herbs and the 5 cats gobbled them up. -Sunbeam
Brairstep flicked her tail. "It's going to be a long trip isn't Rowanpaw?" she asked trying to make conversation. "What? Oh yeah," he meowed puffing out his chest. "Don't worry I'll protect you." She laughed. "And if you need it, I'll protect you."
Echoleaf lay her head down on her paws.She watched with a tired smile as her kits bounded out of the nursery."I hope they don't get under any cat's paws."She murmured to herself as she slowly drifted asleep.
"Let's explore the camp!"Stonekit meowed excitedly as he and his siblings burst out of the nursery and into the clearing. "Ok,but witch den should we explore first?"Leafkit asked. "Elders Den.""Warriors Den." Moonkit and Stonekit mewed at the same time. Leafkit looked from one littermate to the other,as they turned to face each other. "The elders den would be a safer choice.Besides they tell the best stories!"Moonkit meowed. "But if we go to the warriors den,one of the warriors might teach us a battle move!"Stonekit argued. Leafkit scented something in the air,she looked around and noticed it was coming from one of the dens.Her curiousity pricked,she paded over to it.She stepped curiously inside,and looked around.The scent of herbs filled the air."Hello?"she meowed uncertainly.
"Hm?" the medicine cat asked. "Oh, it's Leafkit!" she said. "Who are you?!" Leafkit asked,relaxing alittle. "I am the WaveClan medicine cat, Starwing" "What do you do?" "Treat and heal other cats"
Leafkit looked up at Starwing with a mix of admeration and curiousity. "How can you do that?"She asked. "I use herbs."Starwing anserwd. "You have enought to treat and heal the whole clan?"Leafkit asked in surprise.
Starwing purred. "Well, it depends, if I can find any!" she said. Leafkit nodded. "Now," Starwing said firmly. "There's a patient I need to look after, so run along!" "Awwww! Who's that?!" Leafkit asked. Starwing shook her head. "You'll find out soon!" she smiled.
Silverhail, still unable to walk was sitting in the corner, where Leafkit didn't see her. "What a life!" she grumbled. Starwing gave her a stern look. "Come on Silverhail, you know those cats are going to get that flower!" Starwing protested. "But I didn't want them to! They could die because of me!!!" Silverhail wailed.
Outside, Leafkit has decide that she liked Starwing alot. "I'm going to go back there tomorrow!" she said to herself.
Riverstar was on her way to check Silverhail when she felt 2 fluffy things run into her pelt. She looked down and saw Stonekit and Leafkit. They looked at her with ears flattened and tail between their legs. She purred. These were the clan's first litter of kits while she was leader. Riverstar touched her nose to each of the kit's forheads and meowed. "Don't wander in to the warrior's den! Some can be grumpy." Then she continued padding on.
Foxtrot, Sunbeam, Swiftfoot, Briarstep, and Rowanpaw where finally arriving at the mountains. "Do you remember what it looks like?" Sunbeam asked. "I do!" Brairstep called out. "Look for a beautiful frosty flower with a bright green stem.
Moonkit gave Stonekit a 'i told you so' look."Elders den it is then!"She meowed happily. Stonekit sighed but noded.He looked around and suddenly it occured to him that Leafkit wasen't with them anymore."Where's leafkit?"He asked Moonkit. Moonkit shrugged and was about to say something when Leafkit joined them. "I'm right here!"She exclaimed,her mind racing with thoughts about the medecine cat's den.I wonder who her paitient is...She thought barely listening as her littermates asked her were she'd been."Exploring."She anserwed simply. Moonkit and Stonekit shared a look but didn't say anything. "So witch den are we going to?"Leafkit asked braking the silence. "Elders den."Moonkit ansewred with a smile,ignoring Stonekit's depressed expression. "Then lets go!"Leafkit mewed. "I think it's this way!"Stonekit meowed,and caught up in the excitment of exploring once more,he bounded tawards a den.Moonkit and Leafkit bounded after him uncertainly.
Echoleaf blinked sleepily and with a yawn woke up.She stretched,and then stood up."I better go make sure my kits are staying out of trouble."She meowed to herself,and paded out of the nursery.
Bluefire smiled down at her own kits. "Hey!" Willowkit squealed. "Get your big paw off me!" Frostkit laughed. Willowkit growled playfully and leaped onto her sister's back. "EEEEEEEEP!" Frostkit screamed. "Now, now kits" Bluefire said. "Hush now, come on, it's time for your nap" Willowkit and Frostkit settled into Bluefire's nest and closed their eyes.
"Kits?" Echoleaf called. "Yes?" Leafkit said poking her head out of the elder's den. "What are you doing in their?!" "We were just listening to stoies!" "Come out at once!" instructed their mother.
Silverhail was still sleeping when Riverstar came to visit.
Echoleaf watched as one by one her kits scampered out of the Elders den.She nudged them tawards the nursery."It's about time you had your nap."She meowed. "Bu-bu-but were not tired!"Leafkit whined,just as Moonkit yawned. "Uhuh,sure your not."Echoleaf anserwed uncovinced.She sushed the rest of her kit's whinings as they paded into the nursery.
Echo leaf woke up with a start and looked over at blue fire."Did some say fox?"She asked worriedly.Already on her paws,she padded over to the nursery entrence and padded into the clearing.Her pelt bristled when she saw some warriors fighting a young fox with a desprate look in it's eyes.How did it get into the camp?She thought.Suddenly the fox broke away and bounded tawards a pile of rocks near Riverstar's den.She fallowed it's gaze and fear spread over her.Stonekit was crouched beside the stones his eyes wide in fear.He must have fallowed me out!She thought,racing over to him.Her heart pounded in her chest as she relised she would never reach her kit in time.She watched helplessly as the fox pounced.Then out of no where,Silverhail raced forward and pushed Stonekit out of the way of the fox.Echoleaf sighed in relief and ran as fast as she could to her son.She picked him up by the scruff and over to the nursery.She put him down and nudged him inside.She turned around and looked around for Silverhail.She finally saw her dangling from the fox's jaws as the other warriors attacked it and tried to help her.She frowned sadly but remained near the nursery in case the fox decided to go after the kits.
Riverstar yowled, "Get them out of here!!!" to her warriors. As one her warriors charged fighting for honor and their kits futures. But out of the corner of her eye Riverstar saw a fox with a limp body in her jaws. Silverhail?? Was she dead? Riverstar lundged for it's thoat. "Let her go!!" She wailed. Hearing their leader's wails, Forestsong, Wolfshade, and Sunbeam came to help and took the fox down. "Take her to Starwing," she instructed. "Then help defend the nursery." They nodded and did what she said. "Cinderfrost, Lilytail, Caveclaw, Maliceheart! Defend the elders den!! Everyone else, push them out of our territory," Riverstar called. The look towards the nursery to see Stonekit peeking out at his leader. She flicked her tail to reassure him everything would be okay but truthfully she didn't know... She ran back into the battle.
Back into the mountains, the cats were running for their lives with an avalanche tumbling towards them. With Swiftfoot dead, they felt lost.
Riverstar, by now was panicking. What if they don't get rid of the foxes?! What would happen to WaveClan?! Leafstorm jumped onto a foxes back while Kestrelwing sliced it's ear. Leafstorm winced aa the warm blood splattered onto her. Frostkit was curled up with her sister, Willowkit next to their mother. Frostkit wailed something. "Don't worry Frostkit, I'll protect you!" Stonekit squealed. Frostkit smiled a little.
Finally cats were pushing the foxes out of the camp. "But some bodies littered the ground.... Only a few foxes remained in the camp. But the warriors had it under control. "Echomist take Sunclaw, Foxtrot, Riverpaw, Nightclaw, Petalbreeze, and Tuliptail on a patrol to search the territory," she meowed. She really needed a deputy.... She broke the code by not choosing a deputy by moon-high. She planned to do just that by tonight. Riverstar frowned at the bodies on the ground. She padded up to an orange tabby and turned it's head with her paw. "Firemoon....." she whispered. She looked over. "Ligerheart...." The two orange tabbys, best friends, died side by side. But there was one more body, and Riverstar was afriad it was one of her warriors. She sighed. It was just a taken down fox.
Briarstep, Foxtrot, Sunbeam, and Rowanpaw climbed in a tree before the snow could carry them away. The tree shook as the avalanch calmed down. "Swiftfoot!!!" Sunbeam screamed. "How could this happen? He was the fasts!" Foxtrot asked. "He saved me, u pushed me forward and saved me....." Rowanpaw murmured.
Who do I trust the most? Who can I rely on the most? Riverstar thought. She needed to choose a deputy today! Who? Who? Who? Riverstar padded to the med cat den. "Is Silverhail okay?" she asked. Starwing nodded. "Starwing, who should I choose for my-our-deputy?!" Riverstar asked desprately. "That's up to you......" the med cat said. "I need an apprentice...."
"I found it!" Briarstep shouted in triumph. "You did?! Great! We have to head back in time! Lets go!" Sunbeam said. The cats looked back into the mountains, where Swiftfoot died and headed for their home.
"Um guys" mewed Starwing "Theirs four more cat bodies not moving." "WHO?!" Riverstar mewed angrily. "I'll go check" mewed Bluefire as she runs to the huddled bodies. "From here I can tell there is a ginger and black cat." Mewed Bluefire. "It's Sandfire, Rushingwater, Speedwhisker and Firesong and there not even 5 tail lengths away from Ligerheart so i think the were fighting the badger that killed ligerheart." Starwing mews padding closer.
Echomist noded to Riverstar and along with the others called for the patrol,she paded out of camp.She knew her kits would be safe with Bluefire. Leafkit watched her mother leave the clearing.she sighed,feeling very small and useless.She looked tawards the medecine cat's den.She stood up and bounded over to it.She looked inside curiously."Stargaze?Stargaze is ther anything I can do to help?"She asked padding in.(Sorry I haven't been on lately.My computer isen't working well.)

Echoleaf frowned and with a sigh paded into the nursery to check on Stonekit.
Leafkit frowned feeling very small and helpless.Suddenly she thought about Stargaze.Maybe I can help her,then I won't be so useless.She thought bounding over to the medecine cat's den."Stargaze?"She called poking her head inside the den.
"All of the cats I love, are dead," Riverstar murmured. Starwing glanced at her, just hearing Leafkit. Riverstar touched her nose to her shoulder. "In less then a moon Leafkit will be ready for you my friend. She looked down at the little kit. "So you want to be a medichine cat?"
Leafkit looked at Riverstar and then at Stargaze for a moment.If I were a medecine cat,I could help and care for my clan mates like Stargaze.She thought.She looked back up at Riverstar with shining eyes."More then anything."She answered without hesitation.
She bent down her neck and touched the kit's head with her nose. "In time, but for now I think Starwing needs a little help." When Riverstar left Starwing's eyes gleamed. She couuldn't wait to have a cat look up to her as a mentor, now as a crippled medichine cat.
Leafkit looked up attentivly at Starwing,determined to be of a help to her and not get in her way."What can i do?"She asked.
Echoleaf licked the top of Stonekit's head,relief and gratitude filling her heart.She gathered Moonkit and Stonekit close to her and led them to their nest.She glanced around but not seeing her daughter,she decided that she was probably with Starwing.That's the only cat Leafkit ever talked about.
Stonekit looked over at where frostkit and Willowkit were with their mother. "Close your mouth,your drooling on the nest!"Moonkit muttered from beside him,startling him out of his trance.He closed his mouth,his ear tips growing hot with embaressment.
Lilytail paded over to Riverstar,frowning sadly at the lives lost."Is there anything i can do to help?Maybe i can take some of the others hunting?"She asked.
"Jump! Roll! Kick! Land! Swipe!" Honeyblaze ordered the apprentices. Today was a whole day of training. Not that Sterlingpaw ever minded trainging, but today, she frowned at the orders her mentor gave to her. She haven't been feeling well since yesterday. Her head was always feeling light, she can't think clearly and she was always tired.
"Is there anything wrong?" Honeyblaze asked her gently. "Yeah, I'm fine." Sterlingpaw muttered. What else was she suppose to tell her mentor? Oh, I am not feeling well today, can I skip training?! Her head might not be thinking clearly but she certainly wasn't stupid!
"You okay today?" Blossompaw asked Sterlingpaw. Sterlingpaw shrugged. "What does that mean?" Blossompaw demanded. Sterlingpaw realised that she was not going to get Blossompaw to go away if she was not going to answer to her question. "Hey look, I am fine and now stop annoying me!" she snapped and stalked away before Blossompaw could reply.
"Actually there is something you can do," Riverstar meowed, looking at Lilytail thoughtfully. She lept on the HighRock and called, "All cats old enough to hunt, join beneath the HighRock for a clan meeting." She didn't have to wait that long, everyone was already in the clearing mourning for the lost. So Riverstar started. "It's been a hard time for WaveClan lately, but life goes on around us," she said. Then Riverstar looked up to the heavens and said, "I say these words before StarClan, that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of WaveClan is Lilytail." There were some uneasy murmurs but soon that became mews of congrats and cats crowded Lilytail.
Blossompaw bristled up. "You don't have to be so harsh!!!" she called after Sterlingpaw. But if he heard her, he showed no signs.
Lilytail looked up at Riverstar in surprise,but her surprised expression soon turned into one of determination."I'm honored Riverstar.I promise i'll do my best,to be a deputy the clan can be proud of."she meowed,meaning every word.
"We also have another cat we have to thank and honor," Riverstar went on. "Dewthorn as our new medicine cat when we need one," She motioned to the new she cat that stood below the Highrock. Then Riverstar looked down at her. "Thank you for being the brave soul. We're going to need you a lot in the future," she meowed. "We owe you our lives." Near the nursery, Leafkit looked at the new comer in wonder. Without Starwing, it will never be the same. Will it?
Leafkit frowned and sighed but decided all the same to try to get to know Dewthorn.She looked up at the sky,her thoughts swirling in a storm.Oh Starwing,i wanted to be as great a medecine cat as you were...but now...I don't even know if i should be a medecine cat.Can't you send me a sign?Something to show me what i'm ment to be?She asked silently.
Moonkit watched her sister from afar curiously.Why would she want to be anything BUT a warrior?She asked herself,sitting with her tail curled neatly around her paws.
Stonekit sat beside his sister,gazing dreamily at Frostkit,abluvious to anything else.
Lilytail smiled and noded respectfuly to Dewthorn."I hope you'll serve our clan for many moons to come Dewthorn."She meowed.
Stone blinked his in surprise and grinning waved back.He turned taward Moonkit."Did you see that?She waved at me!"He mewed excitedly.Moonkit just looked at him as if he had to heads.
Riverstar curled her paws under her body and yawned. "I know I want Graywhisker, Nightclaw, Tuliptail, Snakestripe,Firebright, Brairstep, and Blazertail to go. But I know we need others. Do you have any ideas?" she asked the deputy.
"Hey Moonkit!" Snowkit whispered. Moonkit groggily sat up. "Yes?" she answered. "Wanna go check out the FlameClan border?" she asked. "But were not even allowed out of camp!" she gasped. "It's not even sunrise yet!" she complained. "Come on! Let's go!" Snowkit pleaded. "Alright..." Moonkit replied.
"Woah!" exclaimed SnowKit. "I never knew the world was THIS big!" she gasped.
When they reached the FlameClan border SnowKit took a sniff. Hmm.. She said. "What?" moonKit asked. "I smell my sister! What has she been doing on the FlameClan border?" SnowKit asked, surprised. "And I smell another scent.. Not FlameClan.. More like a loner." she wondered. "Maybe she was just chasing the loner off?" MoonKit suggested. "No. The scents are fresh. I'll keep a watch on my sister.... Let's go back to the den before your mom realizes your gone." she meowed.
The kits headed back to camp. Luckily, when they got back to the nursery, nobody noticed them. Stonekit was working hard to impress Frostkit, but Frostkit deosn't look interested.
Snowkit walked over to Stonekit. "Haven't you noticed that Frostkit wnts to be left alone sometimes? I mean.. you can still attempt to impress her.. but she needs personal space too." she requested.
Bluefire watched Stonekit come in. "Oh little kit, you're to young to worry about love. Your only worry should be what's to ear for supper," she moewed licking her paws. "I know Bluefire..." Stonekit said, slouching a little.
Riverstar thought about the cats that Lilytail suggested. Then she nodded. "I'm afraid to send out the cats but we must. Bloodpaw's wipeing us out slowly...." Lilytail thought about this, "If they don't want to go don't make them." "Excatly."
Snowkit bounced up to Dovepaw. "Oooh! Why are you in here?" she asked. "Because I wanted to play with you of course! You can bring your friends too if you want." she replied.
Snowkit hopped off to ask the other kits if they would like to play. They were all in a circle talking to each other. "HEY GUYS!! Wanna play with my sister?" she asked hopefully.
"Dovepaw taught us a new game. She called it.... what was it? Oh yea! Grass Hoop! I love it!" Snowkit boasted to Moonkit's mom. After the game of Grass Hoop, (which they had no idea what a "hoop" was until the game, Dovepaw said it was a round object.), the kits ran off to tell everybody about it.
Snowkit sat on the small thin, high, ledge that she had found especially for this occasion. Dovepaw sat next to her. They stared at the stars for a while until Snowkit broke the silence. "Dove, do you ever look up at the stars and wonder if Tiger is up there? I know he doesn't know what Starclan is, but, maybe he is up there." she asked her sister. "I don't know. He might still be alive. We don't know. After the horse attack......" she trailed off plunged into memories. The blood, the hooves, the death. Clearly Snowkit started remembering also, and started wailing. "Hush Snow. It's ok. Shhh. What's done is done. Mom and dad aren't coming back, and we cant change that." she reassured her sister. The memories came again, She watched the floor of the barn, covered with her parent's blood. Them, dead, motionless on the floor. Snowkit, just born, mewling for milk. Dovepaw was only a kit named Dove. "Tiger..." she slowly whispered. Cradling her sister in her arms, trying to lull her asleep. "Mom and dad dead, and Tiger either dead or lost." she sighed. She looked up at the sky and shouted, "WHYY! WHY DID THEY HAVE TO DIE!?" she shouted. She thought for a minute on who to ask for help, then remembered. "Ivy! Yes! That's who will feed Snow! Yes! Yes! She will live!" she meowed. She picked up Snow by her scruff and dragged her to the barn down the road. She peeked her head in. Dove slowly started the story on her, mother, father, and brother's death.
She got snapped back into reality. Her sister meowed; "Well, i don't know about you. But I think Tiger is still alive. After all, you two were born on the same day!" Dovepaw ignored her. "Now come on. We better be getting back to the nursery. Tell one of the queens to come and get me if you are having bad dreams again. I love you. Bye." she prompted.
P.S. This was basically just explaining Dovepaw and Snowkit's story and why they are both scared of horses. There is more to it but that is basic.
"Yes," Riverstar nodded. "Bring them to my den," the leader thought about what she wanted to say to the warriors. She closed her eyes. "Oh Jetstar... you would know what to do. Please help us."
Lilytail nodded and paded out of Riverstar's den.She paded into the clearing.One by one she found the cats chosen for the patrol and sent them to Riverstar's den.
Snowkit padded up to the leaders den with another tabby tom kit behind her. It looked like she was dragging him. "Riverstar! I heard a noise, then found this kit behind the nursery!" she meowed. "Little kit, whats your name? And who is your mother?" Riverstar asked. "I-I'm Tigerkit and Fawnpelt of Forestclan is my mother." he squeaked.
Tigerkit and fawnpelt are my cats. I just thought It would be fun to have Snowkit find Tigerkit.
"What are you doing here kit?" Riverstar tried to sound firm but sweet. "Your a long time from home Tigerkit," she meowed and licked Snowkits ears. "Good find, you'll be a good apprentice soon."
"Thank you Riverstar." Snowkit meowed and then backed out of the den. "I-I I was only exploring. I didn't know this was clan territory." Tigerkit squeaked. "Are you going to keep me here?" he wailed.
Just until the gathering tonight. We'll bring you home," the leader said. Then she yowled and crouched. "Riverstar what is it?" Lilytail meowed, coming to her side. "I think my kits are coming!"
(one time post. Just visiting again. :3 thought it'd be cool for ol' Jet to make an appearance. XD)
Suddenly Riverstar felt a pelt press against her and a tounge rasp over her ear. She gasped slightly as she looked to see Jetstream crouching right beside her. "you'll be fine. I'll be right here beside you. Always." Jetstream whispered in Riverstar's ear, smiling charmingly at her. His eyes were alight with pride and love, and he curled his tail around her protectively. The stars in his pelt shimmered and shined, the only sign that reminded them all that he wasn't the Jetstar they knew.
Jetstream.." Riverstar's eyes grew wide. "I've missed you and so have are kits," she meowed quietly. She gasped as another wave of pain ran through her belly. Dewthorn came in carrying a bush of herbs in her mouth.
Tigerkit layed down. He was bored. The only kit that would talk to him even a little bit was Snowkit. And she didn't even like to. He sat up as Snowkit walked through the nursery entrance and brought him a fish. "Thanks." he muttered. He was still not used to fish. He was used to land prey, like mice. Snowkit sat down a tail-length away from him, and started eating her fill. He knew they were only a couple sunrises apart. He had heard she was almost an apprentice, so he knew he was almost an apprentice too. "Except my apprenticeship is probably going to be delayed because I snuck out." he thought.
(Wait isen't Snowkit younger then Echoleaf and Bluefire 's kits?)
Leafkit sighed and sat beside her brother sadly,knowing that her dream of being medecine cat would probably never come true now.Stonekit mean while was watching Frostkit a dreamy look in his eyes.
Moonkit paded over to Snowkit and Tigerkit."Hi Snowkit and Tigerkit...Right?"She asked smiling.
Echoleaf watched the kits from outside the nursery glancing tawards Riverstar's den every now and then.Her eyes glowing with worry for her leader.
Lilytail looked over at Dewthorn and then back at Riverstar."Your doing great Riverstar."She mewed incourigly.
Riverstar heaved and 2 kits slipped out quickly. One was a boy that was a silver tabby with blue eyes and the other was a girl, another silver tabby with hazel eyes. Then the last one, a white tom with blue eyes. Riverstar lay her head back, so tired, and let them nurse.
Lilytail smiled softly as she watched the little kits suckle.She looked at Riverstar,"Congradulations Riverstar."She purred softly before padding out of Riverstar's den to let her rest.
Moonkit noded and watched him leave.
(Her dream won't come true because she wanted to be the medecine cat before dewthorn,'s apprentice.Plus Snowkit wants to be a medecine cat to so she's decided to be a warrior and let her den mate be medecine cat apprentice.After all it wouldn't be the same without the medecine cat she looked up to.)
"Lilytail?" Riverstar called after her. "Like I was going to say before I was inturrupted by these 3. You need to take my place until I'm fit again. You can send the patrol out when your ready," she called. She looked down at her kits. 'I hope your are a sign that things will get better again' she thought. 'The silver tabby with green eyes will be Wildkit, The silver tabby with blue eyes will be Bluekit, and the white tom... will be Jetkit...' she thought again and thought she smelled Jetstream and he approved.
Lilytail flicked her tail to show she heard her as she stepped into the clearing,she gestered Caveclaw over to her and he paded over to her."Can you lead a border patrol Caveclaw?Take Dovepaw and anyone else you want with you."She mewed. "Alright."He mewed and paded over to the warriors sharing togues and eating near the warriors den.She looked around and finaly paded over to were leafstorm was sharing a rabbit with her sister Echomist."Can you each lead a hunting patrol?"She asked. They noded,"Who do you want us to take?"Leafstorm asked her. "Anyone you want."She replied and looked around for Sunbeam.She finaly found her,and asked her to asses Rowanpaw's fighting.After a few moments of talking about Riverstar and her kits,Lilytail paded over to the freshkill pile and picked up a mouse.She lay down near the warriors den and began eating it.
Caveclaw nodded. "The great thing about border patrol is that you can hunt and eat if you want to as long as you keep up though," he meowed to his apprentice. 'I need to take her on her warriors assignment...' he thought (DOVEPAW SEE APPRENTICE DEN!!)
Silversky spotted the deputy outside of the warriors den when he stepped out of the nursery. He loved his new brothers and sister. But he worried for Jetkit. He was so small... and he looked just like him. I knew he was going to be like Jetstar in everyway already. The white tom grabbed something from the pile and padded over to Lilytail. "Mind if I join you?" he said blushing a little.
Cinderfrost looked at Wildkit. "Dad would've loved them...." and Brairstep nodded. "I remember when dad came into the nursery that day... I miss him.." Riverstar looked up at them and swept her tail over the suckling kits. "I know we all do," she meowed soothingly. "I need at least one of you to come everyday. They're going to find out about Jetstar and I know they will be upset."
Lilytail looked up at Silversky,smiling broadly."Not at all!"She mewed.Hoping he couldn't see her blushing at her overly eager sounding voice,she took another bite from her mouse.She swallowed and then turned tawards him smiling more normaly,"What do you think of your new siblings?"She asked.
"They're really great," he meowed. "Pity that Jetstar isn't still alive," he meowed. "Yeah." Lilytail smiled warmly. "We should keep an eye on Jetkit though," he trailed off. "So when is the Bloodpaw patrol going out?"
Cinderfrost nodded. "yeah... I'll come in again tomorrow, mom." he promised, smiling and brushing his tail over his new brothers and sister. He thought back to when they were born, and smiled when he thought of how Jetstar had come back to stand at Riverstar's side, like he had promised he always would. 'I'll be just like him one day.' Cinderfrost thought determinedly.
Forestfire flicked his ears as he came in through the entrance with a rabbit dangling from his jaws.
Lilytail sighed and frowned."As soon as the're ready i'm afraid."She mewed,hating to think of what Bloodpaw might do to her clanmates."Riverstar told them that she wouldn't force anyone to go,so they still have to make up the're minds probably."She mewed.She looked at silversky and tried to hide the relief she felt at his not being chosen for the patrol by looking away,and finishing her freshkill.
"Well if anyone refuses, I'll be fine with going," he meowed. "No no no! It's alright really!" Lilytail instested. "I want to go," Silversky said, taking the last bite of his prey. "I like to searve my mother's clan. When my dad died I realized that protecting my loved one's is all that I want..." he trailed off. Lilytail looked at him in awe.
"Hey you two," Riverstar scolded Wildkit and Bluekit, they'd run out of the den and came back with a battered up thrush. "What have I told you about playing with your food? Come on now your nearly 2 moons old." Jetkit cowarded into his mother's side shyly. "You should play with your brother," their mother flicked her tail. Bluekit rolled her eyes and Wildkit said, "But mother you don't understand. He's to small to play the games we play and too weak to fight." Suddenly the song of Bloodpaw rang in her ears, making her strict. "You will play with Jetkit," she nudged Jetkit their way.
Lilytail smiled softly,but worry shined in her eyes.She didn't want to loose Silversky.And if he desided to go on the patrol,then she wouldn't be able to go with him either.She had to stay with the clan till Riverstar resumed her duties.That would be the worst part,not knowing wether he was safe or not.She sat up,and gave her head a small shake,of course he'd want to go,she even admired the fact.She eventualy found herself nodding."If you realy want to go,we could talk to Riverstar."She mewed reculently.
"Congrats Dovepaw!!" Bluekit and Wildkit scampered over, Jetkit stayed by Riverstar's side. "There's also a little kit who's to be apprenticed," Riverstar meowed warmly and she got up and padded to the clearing. "All cats old enough to hunt, gather beneath the HighStone to hear what I have to say!" she called, her kits watching from the nursery." *see the rest in the home page!*
Jayfire was just leaving when he wanted to go to another persons dream. He turned to Spiritsoar. "What do you think about Dawnwing?"

She was near a river hunting.
"Hey Dawnwing!" Jayfire called, being careful where he stepped. This place was unfamiliar, the worest place a blind cat could be.
Dawnwing looked up, her nose twitching. She caught sight of Jayfire and growled.
ReplyDelete"Don't worry, I'm a Starclan cat." He said.
Dawnwing looked up and then hesitated.
"Are you blind?" She asked.
Jayfire held himself back from growling. "Yes..." he replied calmly. "I have a proposition for you."
Dawnwing thought it over for a moment. "Go on," she moewed.
ReplyDelete"Floods are coming to your territory. I have choosen certain cats to lead your clan to safety. You are one of them. I trust you, Spottedfire, Silverpaw, Nightclaw, Snakestripe, and Sunclaw to do just that. Talk to Spottedfire about what you've never talked about before because this is the time to do so. Show the cats that you are someone, with loyaltys."
Dawnwing bit her tongue.

"There is a dam on the other side of the Twoleg farm- soon it will explode."
"Where do I lead the clans?" Dawnwing asked, her tail swishing back and forth.
"Beyond the mountains."
Dawnwing looked at the blind cat as if he was crazy.
ReplyDelete"This is Wavestar's will," Jayfire said before Dawnwing could open her jaws. "This is going to play a big roll in WaveClan's history. Be careful," he meowed, and walked into the mists of Dawnwing's dreams.
Jayfire finally made it to Sunclaw's dream.
"Hello Sunclaw."
Fire song woke up and stared. Coughing than thought I have nothing to live for so she went out and found possible eat it in camp
ReplyDeleteSilverpaw to go, Spottedfire and Snakestripe too, this will bond them even more closer then they already are. Nightclaw because she needs one last adventure before she becomes an elder, and Sunclaw to prove his loyalty.

"Hey, Dawnwing."
Dawnwing looked up to find Sunclaw looking at her. "Yes, Sunclaw?"
"Did Jayfire and Spiritsoar come talk to you?"
"Yes- Jayfire." She said. "Are we going to take the clans to the mountains?"
"No- not yet. First we have to find a safe place. We can't blindly lead around the clans. Besides, the other clans won't trust us."
"This like the great journey long ago." Dawnwing said excitedly. "Except... all the cats are from Waveclan. Do we lead Waveclan away or ALL the clans?"
Sunclaw's tail swished. "I'm not sure... Jayfire said our clan, but all the clans are in peril. I wonder if other cats from their clans got dreams."
"Let's hope so." Dawnwing whispered. "Let's go talk to Snakestripe and Spottedfire."
"And Silverpaw? He won't want to leave Cinderpaw and Briarpaw behind in this adventure."
"I'll talk to him."Dawnwing said.
Silverpaw just came back from hunting, dropping fresh kill in the pile.

"The dream," he meowed. "I've had it too."
He felt awkward talking to Dawnwing. Did she still like his father? More importantly, did his father still like her?
"I'm hungry. I'm uh, gonna go get something to eat," Silverpaw muttered, walking over to freshkill and selecting a blackbird.
ReplyDeleteDawnwing sighed. How would she ever earn the trust of the other cats on the journey? She went over to talk to Starwing in the medicine den.

Seeing Starwing was busy, Dawnwing silently backed out and ran into Sunbeam.
ReplyDelete"Oh, hey Sunbeam!" Dawnwing politely greeted her.
"Hi Dawnwing. I've heard this rumor that you and some other cats have had this dream about a journey from Starclan. Is that true?" Sunbeam asked, clearly interested.
"I don't know much yet, but that's the rumor," Dawnwing laughed.
Sunbeam smiled. 'Maybe she won't criticize me about Jetstar. I mean, that was a long time ago, I hope she won't,' Dawnwing thought.
"You seem hungry. Do you want to go get some breakfast?" Sunbeam asked. Dawnwing nodded and Sunbeam picked out a juicy rabbit and Dawnwing selected a thrush. They sat down beside and began to eat. After a quick chat Jetstream came over.
"Hey Sunbeam, can you organize a border patrol? I'm busy and Scarheart is out on hunting patrol with Cinderpaw and Petalbreeze," Jetstar asked her.
"Sure! How many cats do you want me to take?" Sunbeam asked.
"5 total. Yesterday Scarheart reported Flameclan scent on our territory. We don't want trouble," Jetstar explained, heading to the nursery to check on Riverheart.
The patrol ended up being Sunbeam, Dawnwing, Puddlesplash, Briarpaw, and Cinderpaw.
"Fresh Flameclan scent," Puddlesplash sniffed.
"What do we do?" Briarpaw asked.
"Puddlesplash, take Dawnwing and Briarpaw and finish patrolling. Cinderpaw and I will thoroughly check the Flameclan border for any other signs. Meet back at the Sunrock when you're finished. If we don't come back, or if you hear any cries for help, don't hesitate to come looking for us," Sunbeam instructed. Puddlesplash nodded and they went off in the different directions. Just then, Cinderpaw heard a rustle in the bushes ahead of them.

Just then a fox burst out of the bushes.
ReplyDeleteSunbeam growled and dodged it as the fox tried to pounce on top of her.
ReplyDelete"Cinderpaw! Go get the others!" Sunbeam yelled, doing her best to fight off the fox. Cinderpaw darted through the forest when he practically slammed into Puddlesplash.
"Fox! Sunbeam needs help fighting it!" Cinderpaw panted. They stopped their patroling and went to help. When they got there, there was not just one fox. The one Sunbeam had been fighting had been a baby. There was now a mother and an older sibling there too, rounding up on Sunbeam.

Littlefog pounced on the mother with Cinderpaw and Silverpaw at her side.

ReplyDeleteThey did their best to fight off the foxes, but couldn't quite do it. All of a sudden, a massive tom sprang out of the bushes, and the foxes sprinted away. They all gasped.
"Who are you?" Dawnwing asked, confused.
"I'm Mud," Mud answered.
"And... are you a kittypet? A rogue?" Dawnwing tried to get more information.
"I'm a loner. My parents drowned when I was around 6 moons old and I was left to take care of my little sister, Fawn. Those foxes and I have met before. Around 8 moons, they tried to attack Fawn, but I fought them off," Mud explained.
"All by yourself?" Puddlesplash looked suprised.
Mud nodded. "She's all I had," Mud said blankly.
"What do you mean... had?" Briarpaw asked.
"When she was old enough to start hunting, we went out and mistaking it for something edible, she ate deathberries..and well... when I came it was too late," Mud teared up, remembering the tragedy.
"I'm sorry for your loss," Sunbeam said sympathetically, lightly resting her tail on his shoulder.
"Anyway, I'm glad you're all okay. If it hadn't been for your clanmates, you would've been ripped to shreds," Mud said to Sunbeam.
Sunbeam blushed, "Well that's the beauty of clanmates and the random appearances of loners."

"I should probably get going, I don't want to hold up your patrol," Mud said.
ReplyDelete"We are pretty much finished, and we owe you one for helping us. Do you want to come back to camp? Just for a little bit," Sunbeam offered.
"Sure," Mud smiled.
They walked back to camp and Wolfshade, who was on guard duty, growled, "Who's the loner who decided to show up?"
"This is Mud, we were attacked by foxes and he 'saved the day' by scaring them off, we are just returning the favor by letting him stay for a little bit," Sunbeam explained.
"Just for today, if he stays any longer, I don't know how Jetstar would react," Wolfshade warned, returning to her post.

As they walked to the fresh-kill pile, spats of confusion and, "Who the heck is he? Attack!" And every time Sunbeam would have to explain what happened in the forest. Then, Jetstar approached them.

His voice didnt sound threatening when he talked, but his eyes told a different story.
ReplyDelete"Sunbeam, whos this?" he said, looking at Mud.
"uh, Jetstar, this is Mud. When we were attacked by foxes he came and scared them off." Sunbeam explained.
Jetstar looked taken aback at that news but quickly recovered.
"were you going to tell me about that whole incident soon? or were you just going to forget about the whole thing." he mewed, his tail flicking aggitatedly from side to side.
Sunbeam remained silent at that comment.
"And, were you planning on telling me about Mud anytime soon?" he pressed on, irritated that he wasnt informed of anything until now.
Scarheart joined him.
ReplyDelete"Sunbeam we know your new but you just can't bring ever cat that greets you into our camp," he added.
"It was just one cat, and- I was going to tell you," Sunbeam muttered.
ReplyDelete"You should've told me immediately, I'm very disappointed, I thought you knew better than that," Jetstar scolded.
Sunbeam teared up and ran back behind the warrior's den.
"It's time for you to go Mud, you can show yourself out," Jetstar spat, padding back to his den.

Foxtrot was eating a mouse when he saw Sunbeam run off behind the warriors den.

'whats wrong with her?' he wondered as he trotted over.
"hey, Sunbeam?" he started to say.
"go away!" Sunbeam growled.
"It's just me, Foxtrot!!" he said, flicking his tail as he came to sit beside her.
Sunbeam hid her face.

"It's Mud. Jetstar was really rude to him, even when he saved us from the foxes."
"I know. Jetstar's very sensitive about loners and roughs coming into camp. He fears they'll join the clan." Foxtrot said.
"Well I don't think there's anything wrong with that." Spat Sunbeam. "Thunderclan did that and look where they turned out."
Foxtrot looked at Sunbeam gently. "Mud will be fine, trust me."
"He can take care of himself. Besides, if he wanted to join a clan theres always Grassclan and Flameclan to turn to. Barkclans not really an option... theyre too aggressive..." Foxtrot mewed, getting off-topic. "hey, did you know that Jetstar's from Barkclan? he got exiled from there for doin somethin... I forget what..." he added, this time getting completely off-topic.

"You had been told to leave before! So, leave me and my clan alone!" Jetstar snarled.
"But I helped-"
"Yes, I know that you helped, and mow it's your time to leave!" Jetstar spat.
Jetstar lashed his tail a couple times, eyes blazing.

"I already told you to leave. We appreciate what you did with the foxes, but Waveclan isnt just a place for loners seeking refuge. Now go." Jetstar growled, his tailtip flicking back and forth.

When Petalbreeze and Graywhisker came back. Jetstar demanded, "Is he gone?"
ReplyDelete"Yes" Petalbreeze said. "That mouse-brain" Jetstar muttered.
"Hey, Silverhail, you want to come hunting with me?" Swiftfoot asked, nervously.
"Sure," Silverhail blushed, flattered. On their way out Jetstream called, "Be careful! A recent sighting of foxes is not good! Do you want any other cats to go with you just in case?"
ReplyDelete"No, we'll be fine," Swiftfoot quickly replied, obviously wanting alone time with Silverhail. Jetstream nodded and returned to his clan, and they went off into the forest.

"So, where-" Silverhail started to asked Swiftfoot, only to be interupted.
ReplyDelete"Silverhail, I just want to tell you that I l-l-love you!" Swiftfoot blurted out, before he could stop himself.
Silverhail looked at Swiftfoot. Then there was a awkward silence. "I love you too" she said finally.
"Truly?" Swiftfoot's eyes lit up.
ReplyDelete"Truly," Silverhail pressed her flank against his lightly.
"Silverhail I just want to let you know that no matter what happens I will always be there for you," Swiftfoot promised.
"I know," Silverhail rested her tail on his spine and enjoyed the moment.
"Right now though, we should probably get some prey," she said, getting up, "Jetstar is expecting something. Bet that I can run to the Tree Everglades before you!"
Swiftfoot laughed and bounded after her. Staying true to his name, Swiftfoot got there before Silverhail. They rolled on their backs in laughter, and just then Silverhail squeaked in pain.
"What's wrong?" Swiftfoot stopped giggling, looking at her with deep concern.
"I don't know, something sharp landed on my back," Silverhail winced, moving so Swiftfoot could take a look at it.
"I'm no medicine cat, but it looks like a thorn cut you pretty deep. We should probably get you to Starwing. I'll help you get there if you need it," Swiftfoot said.
"The pain is getting to my legs," Silverhail cried, collapsing. Swiftfoot carried her on his back back to the medicine den.
"What is it, Starwing," Swiftfoot said impatiently, pacing the den.
"Well, it looks like this suprisingly big thorn cut into her spine and messed with her ability to walk," Starwing explained, "she'll be cooped in for a while, but as long as we're careful, chances are she'll be back on her feet, but I can't guarantee anything."
"so you're saying she could be- paralyzed?" Swiftfoot tryed to take in all the chilling information.
"A very slim chance, but we have to be careful," Starwing looked down at a drowsy Silverhail, eyes full of worry for the patient.

"Starwing said that she might be paralyzed"
"OMG! That's horrible!"

Swiftfoot shrugged and walked into the warriors den.
Sunbeam stood there. Maybe she could visit Silverhail? She decided to go to Starwing's den and ask.
"Starwing?"
"What's up Sunbeam?"
"Can I see Silverhail?"
"Sorry Sunbeam, but not today. She needs some rest"
"Right. Bye!"
"Bye!"
Sunbeam walked out of the den.
"You look worried. Are you okay?" a voice said behind her. Sunbeam swung around to see Foxtrot standing there.
"Oh, um, I fine. Just a bit worried, don't worry" she assured him.

"Well, Silverhail got hurt today, and she might be paralyzed, so i'm just hoping she'll get better," Sunbeam admitted.
"I understand. If someone close to me got hurt, I'd be freaking out," Foxtrot laughed, but had a serious tone in his voice, staring at sunbeam. She shuffled her paws in embarrasment and Foxtrot smiled. "Do you want to get something to eat?" he finally broke the silence. Sunbeam nodded and they went over to the fresh-kill pile.

"Are you saying that I'm never going to be on my feet again, Starwing?" Silverhail wailed in despair.
ReplyDelete"I am sorry, Silverhail, but yes, that's exactly what I mean" Starwing answered, just as sad as the patient.
"Then what's the point of living?" Silverhail demanded.
"Remember that Briarlight from ThunderClan helped with the herbs, and she still lived" Starwing remind her gently.
"But that was different! She broke her back-bone so she couldn't feel her hind legs, I am paralyzed but I can still feel my legs, I just can't move them!" Silverhail cried.
"Do you want to see Swiftfoot?"
"Oh yes, please!"
"Alright then, Swiftfoot! Swiftfoot!! SWIFTFOOT!!!"
"What's up?" Swiftfoot asked poking his head through the Starwing's den.
"I can't walk, run and hunt again!" Silverhail told him before Starwing could speak.
"Is that true?" Swiftfoot said, turning to the medicine cat.
Starwing nodded slowly.
"No!" he cried, sitting himself next to Silverhail.
"You prbably hate me now" Silverhail said blankly.
"Of course not!"
"But I am useless to Wvaeclan!"
"But I still love you. Like Snakestripe never stopped loving Spottedfire when she is captured by the two-legs"
"Well, that's different as well! Spottedfire could actually help the clan when she comes back, and I can't do anything!"
"But-"
"Swiftfoot, that's enough talk for today, now please get out" Starwing said firmly.
"STARCLAN!!! WHY HAVE YOU LET THIS HAPPEN TO ME!!! DO YOU WANT TO MAKE ME UNHAPPY JUST BECAUSE I WAS A LONER BEFORE I JOINED THIS CLAN??!!"
Silverhail yelled, after Swiftfoot went out.

I stared at Silvergail, pain plaguing my every fiber. As a medicine cat, I see depressing stuff all the time, but this... a cat would never be able to walk, or run, or play, or even hunt. It was horrible!
If only the birds of sadness would stop nesting in my heart... they loved to make me feel miserable. Ever since Sandbreeze died, everything got harder and harder and harder... no. I couldn't zone out on my patient, not when she needs me!
"Okay, Silverhail, start with these," I said as I handed her a pawful of herbs. "This will..." I hesitated. "Possibly do something. I think." I started checking her legs some more, only too find out she could only move from her waist upward, tail included.
By now I was making stuff up as I went, doing more experiments than anything else, more tests than results. And it was all leading to a dead end. A dead end where Silverhail would never walk again. And I hated it.

As Silverhail's sister, I was more worried than anyone. More than Sunbeam and more than Swiftfoot. I wasn't fair for the thorn to have hit Silverhail! It just wasn't!
"Is she okay?" I asked Starwing.
Starwing looked at me with sad green eyes. "No" she said hoarsely.
"But-" I said rising my voice.
"Shhh" Starwing said sweeping her tail over my mouth. "She's sleeping" she hissed, flicking her tail at Silverhail who was asleep in the corner of the medicine cat's den.
I sighed and walked away to the warrior's den and found sleeping in his nest.
"Hey!" I hissed in his ear and poked him with my paw. "Wake up!"
(Oh, and, BTW: I will put on an attack or something so Silverhail can die! What's the point of living if she can't walk?)

When Starwing settled down in her moss, and fell asleep, she found herself in a starry environment with familiar cats. 'Starclan,' Starwing realized. Just then she saw a cat walk slowly towards her.
ReplyDelete"Who are you?" Starwing asked.
"My name is Briarlight, you probably know my story from Thunderclan," Briarlight greeted.
"yes but waht about-" Starwing stared at Briarlight's perfectly working hind legs.
"Oh, they cured when I came to Starclan. Believe it or not I'm still getting used to it," Briarlight laughed.
"So what did you bring me here for?" Starwing asked urgently.
"Yes, about your patient, Silverhail. There is a way to heal her," Briarlight told her.
"There is? How?" Starwing's eyes filled with urgency.
"There is a rare plant in the mountains, the ice flower. It only grows in snow patches, and if chewed into a pulp with poppy seeeds and marigold, it can heal Silverhail," Briarlight explained.
"How are we supposed to get it? And what does it looks like?" Starwing asked.
"It has ice-frosted ivy-like petals and an unusually black stem. The ice won't melt," Briarlight explained, "sent out a patrol of cats into the mountains to find the ice flower, and then bring it back to Silverhail. I must warn you though, once picked from the ground, the ice flower's healing power will only be active for ten sunrises, then the ice will melt and its power will be useless."
"Thank you Briarlight," Starwing ended as the vision turned into blacknes and Starwing opened her eyes.

ReplyDelete"So you are saying, Starwing we need to send a patrol to the mountains?" said who-ever the leader was.
"Yes, it's our only hope to get Silverhail walking again"
"But-"
"No! I am the medicine cat! Silverhail is my responsibility! You will never understand!"
"Then that's it then, five cats will go to the mountains"
The leader and Starwing discussed who they thought should go on the journey and when their decision was final the leader stepped out of his/her den and called a clan meeting. AFter Starwing explained her dream about the ice flower, she said 5 cats have been chosen to take the journey.
ReplyDelete"We have decided to take Foxtrot, Sunbeam, Swiftfoot, Briarstep, and Rowanpaw. You will leave in the morning, so rest well so you can get up early. When you get up, go to the medicine den to get your traveling herbs. That is all," the leader stepped down.

"T-t-the mountains?" Silverhail said softly.
ReplyDelete"Yes, is there something wrong?" Starwing asked gently.
"But, why take Swiftfoot? I had a friend when I was a loner who ventured into the mountains, she......she never came back" Silverhail told her.
"But Swiftfoot wanted to do it for you, Silverhail. You have Honeyblaze with you here at camp, they will come back safely" Starwing assured her.
The next morning, Swiftfoot was the first to wake up. He followed orders and headed to the medicine den, where Starwing was preparing the traveling herbs.
ReplyDelete"Knock knock," Swiftfoot said as he came in.
"Oh good, you're up. Here," Starwing handed him a bundle of weird smelling herbs.
"Don't take it until some of the other travelers are up. We don't want yours to wear off before everyone else's," she warned.
"Alright," Swiftfoot set the bundle down and went over to Silverhail, who was just waking up.
"Hey," he greeted softly.
"Swiftfoot!" Silverhail smiled, "thank you for doing this."
"I would do anything for you Silverhail, you know that," Swiftfoot assured her. Silverhail blushed, just as Sunbeam and Foxtrot walked in, followed by Rowanpaw and Briarstep. Starwing handed out the traveling herbs and the 5 cats gobbled them up.

Brairstep flicked her tail. "It's going to be a long trip isn't Rowanpaw?" she asked trying to make conversation.

She laughed. "And if you need it, I'll protect you."
Echoleaf lay her head down on her paws.She watched with a tired smile as her kits bounded out of the nursery."I hope they don't get under any cat's paws."She murmured to herself as she slowly drifted asleep.
ReplyDelete"Let's explore the camp!"Stonekit meowed excitedly as he and his siblings burst out of the nursery and into the clearing.
"Ok,but witch den should we explore first?"Leafkit asked.
"Elders Den.""Warriors Den." Moonkit and Stonekit mewed at the same time.
Leafkit looked from one littermate to the other,as they turned to face each other.
"The elders den would be a safer choice.Besides they tell the best stories!"Moonkit meowed.
"But if we go to the warriors den,one of the warriors might teach us a battle move!"Stonekit argued.
Leafkit scented something in the air,she looked around and noticed it was coming from one of the dens.Her curiousity pricked,she paded over to it.She stepped curiously inside,and looked around.The scent of herbs filled the air."Hello?"she meowed uncertainly.
"Hm?" the medicine cat asked. "Oh, it's Leafkit!" she said.

Leafkit looked up at Starwing with a mix of admeration and curiousity.
ReplyDelete"How can you do that?"She asked.
"I use herbs."Starwing anserwd.
"You have enought to treat and heal the whole clan?"Leafkit asked in surprise.
Starwing purred.
ReplyDelete"Well, it depends, if I can find any!" she said.
Leafkit nodded.
"Now," Starwing said firmly. "There's a patient I need to look after, so run along!"
"Awwww! Who's that?!" Leafkit asked.
Starwing shook her head.
"You'll find out soon!" she smiled.
Silverhail, still unable to walk was sitting in the corner, where Leafkit didn't see her.
"What a life!" she grumbled.
Starwing gave her a stern look.
"Come on Silverhail, you know those cats are going to get that flower!" Starwing protested.
"But I didn't want them to! They could die because of me!!!" Silverhail wailed.
Outside, Leafkit has decide that she liked Starwing alot.
"I'm going to go back there tomorrow!" she said to herself.
Riverstar was on her way to check Silverhail when she felt 2 fluffy things run into her pelt.
ReplyDeleteShe looked down and saw Stonekit and Leafkit.
They looked at her with ears flattened and tail between their legs.
She purred. These were the clan's first litter of kits while she was leader.
Riverstar touched her nose to each of the kit's forheads and meowed. "Don't wander in to the warrior's den! Some can be grumpy." Then she continued padding on.
Foxtrot, Sunbeam, Swiftfoot, Briarstep, and Rowanpaw where finally arriving at the mountains.
"Do you remember what it looks like?" Sunbeam asked.
"I do!" Brairstep called out. "Look for a beautiful frosty flower with a bright green stem.
Moonkit gave Stonekit a 'i told you so' look."Elders den it is then!"She meowed happily.
ReplyDeleteStonekit sighed but noded.He looked around and suddenly it occured to him that Leafkit wasen't with them anymore."Where's leafkit?"He asked Moonkit.
Moonkit shrugged and was about to say something when Leafkit joined them.
"I'm right here!"She exclaimed,her mind racing with thoughts about the medecine cat's den.I wonder who her paitient is...She thought barely listening as her littermates asked her were she'd been."Exploring."She anserwed simply.
Moonkit and Stonekit shared a look but didn't say anything.
"So witch den are we going to?"Leafkit asked braking the silence.
"Elders den."Moonkit ansewred with a smile,ignoring Stonekit's depressed expression.
"Then lets go!"Leafkit mewed.
"I think it's this way!"Stonekit meowed,and caught up in the excitment of exploring once more,he bounded tawards a den.Moonkit and Leafkit bounded after him uncertainly.
Echoleaf blinked sleepily and with a yawn woke up.She stretched,and then stood up."I better go make sure my kits are staying out of trouble."She meowed to herself,and paded out of the nursery.
Bluefire smiled down at her own kits.
ReplyDelete"Hey!" Willowkit squealed. "Get your big paw off me!"
Frostkit laughed.
Willowkit growled playfully and leaped onto her sister's back.
"EEEEEEEEP!" Frostkit screamed.
"Now, now kits" Bluefire said. "Hush now, come on, it's time for your nap"
Willowkit and Frostkit settled into Bluefire's nest and closed their eyes.
"Kits?" Echoleaf called.
"Yes?" Leafkit said poking her head out of the elder's den.
"What are you doing in their?!"
"We were just listening to stoies!"
"Come out at once!" instructed their mother.
Silverhail was still sleeping when Riverstar came to visit.
Echoleaf watched as one by one her kits scampered out of the Elders den.She nudged them tawards the nursery."It's about time you had your nap."She meowed.
ReplyDelete"Bu-bu-but were not tired!"Leafkit whined,just as Moonkit yawned.
"Uhuh,sure your not."Echoleaf anserwed uncovinced.She sushed the rest of her kit's whinings as they paded into the nursery.
"So, it should be here somewhere......." Briarstep muttered.
ReplyDeleteSwiftfoot sniffed at a flower. He shook his head.
"Hey...." Rowanpaw said.
""FOX ATTACK!!!!!!!!" Petalbreeze screamed the next morning.
(Ok, I am stopping there, but whoever continues it, please remember to kill off Silverhail for me)
Echo leaf woke up with a start and looked over at blue fire."Did some say fox?"She asked worriedly.Already on her paws,she padded over to the nursery entrence and padded into the clearing.Her pelt bristled when she saw some warriors fighting a young fox with a desprate look in it's eyes.How did it get into the camp?She thought.Suddenly the fox broke away and bounded tawards a pile of rocks near Riverstar's den.She fallowed it's gaze and fear spread over her.Stonekit was crouched beside the stones his eyes wide in fear.He must have fallowed me out!She thought,racing over to him.Her heart pounded in her chest as she relised she would never reach her kit in time.She watched helplessly as the fox pounced.Then out of no where,Silverhail raced forward and pushed Stonekit out of the way of the fox.Echoleaf sighed in relief and ran as fast as she could to her son.She picked him up by the scruff and over to the nursery.She put him down and nudged him inside.She turned around and looked around for Silverhail.She finally saw her dangling from the fox's jaws as the other warriors attacked it and tried to help her.She frowned sadly but remained near the nursery in case the fox decided to go after the kits.
ReplyDeleteRiverstar yowled, "Get them out of here!!!" to her warriors.
ReplyDeleteAs one her warriors charged fighting for honor and their kits futures.
But out of the corner of her eye Riverstar saw a fox with a limp body in her jaws.
Silverhail?? Was she dead?
Riverstar lundged for it's thoat. "Let her go!!" She wailed.
Hearing their leader's wails, Forestsong, Wolfshade, and Sunbeam came to help and took the fox down.
"Take her to Starwing," she instructed. "Then help defend the nursery."
They nodded and did what she said.
"Cinderfrost, Lilytail, Caveclaw, Maliceheart! Defend the elders den!! Everyone else, push them out of our territory," Riverstar called.
The look towards the nursery to see Stonekit peeking out at his leader.
She flicked her tail to reassure him everything would be okay but truthfully she didn't know...
She ran back into the battle.
Back into the mountains, the cats were running for their lives with an avalanche tumbling towards them.

Riverstar, by now was panicking.
What if they don't get rid of the foxes?!
What would happen to WaveClan?!
Leafstorm jumped onto a foxes back while Kestrelwing sliced it's ear.
Leafstorm winced aa the warm blood splattered onto her.
Frostkit was curled up with her sister, Willowkit next to their mother.
Frostkit wailed something.
"Don't worry Frostkit, I'll protect you!" Stonekit squealed.
Frostkit smiled a little.
Finally cats were pushing the foxes out of the camp. "But some bodies littered the ground....
ReplyDeleteOnly a few foxes remained in the camp. But the warriors had it under control.
"Echomist take Sunclaw, Foxtrot, Riverpaw, Nightclaw, Petalbreeze, and Tuliptail on a patrol to search the territory," she meowed.
She really needed a deputy.... She broke the code by not choosing a deputy by moon-high. She planned to do just that by tonight.
Riverstar frowned at the bodies on the ground.
She padded up to an orange tabby and turned it's head with her paw.
"Firemoon....." she whispered. She looked over. "Ligerheart...."
The two orange tabbys, best friends, died side by side. But there was one more body, and Riverstar was afriad it was one of her warriors.
She sighed. It was just a taken down fox.
Briarstep, Foxtrot, Sunbeam, and Rowanpaw climbed in a tree before the snow could carry them away.
The tree shook as the avalanch calmed down.
"Swiftfoot!!!" Sunbeam screamed.
"How could this happen? He was the fasts!" Foxtrot asked.
"He saved me, u pushed me forward and saved me....." Rowanpaw murmured.
Who do I trust the most?

She needed to choose a deputy today!
Who? Who? Who?
Riverstar padded to the med cat den.
"Is Silverhail okay?" she asked.
Starwing nodded.
"Starwing, who should I choose for my-our-deputy?!" Riverstar asked desprately.
"That's up to you......" the med cat said. "I need an apprentice...."
"I found it!" Briarstep shouted in triumph.
"You did?! Great! We have to head back in time! Lets go!" Sunbeam said.
The cats looked back into the mountains, where Swiftfoot died and headed for their home.

ReplyDelete"Um guys" mewed Starwing "Theirs four more cat bodies not moving." "WHO?!" Riverstar mewed angrily. "I'll go check" mewed Bluefire as she runs to the huddled bodies. "From here I can tell there is a ginger and black cat." Mewed Bluefire. "It's Sandfire, Rushingwater, Speedwhisker and Firesong and there not even 5 tail lengths away from Ligerheart so i think the were fighting the badger that killed ligerheart." Starwing mews padding closer.

Leafkit watched her mother leave the clearing.she sighed,feeling very small and useless.She looked tawards the medecine cat's den.She stood up and bounded over to it.She looked inside curiously."Stargaze?Stargaze is ther anything I can do to help?"She asked padding in.(Sorry I haven't been on lately.My computer isen't working well.)

Leafkit frowned feeling very small and helpless.Suddenly she thought about Stargaze.Maybe I can help her,then I won't be so useless.She thought bounding over to the medecine cat's den."Stargaze?"She called poking her head inside the den.
"All of the cats I love, are dead," Riverstar murmured.

She looked down at the little kit. "So you want to be a medichine cat?"
Leafkit looked at Riverstar and then at Stargaze for a moment.If I were a medecine cat,I could help and care for my clan mates like Stargaze.She thought.She looked back up at Riverstar with shining eyes."More then anything."She answered without hesitation.

ReplyDeleteWhen Riverstar left Starwing's eyes gleamed. She couuldn't wait to have a cat look up to her as a mentor, now as a crippled medichine cat.
Leafkit looked up attentivly at Starwing,determined to be of a help to her and not get in her way."What can i do?"She asked.
ReplyDeleteEcholeaf licked the top of Stonekit's head,relief and gratitude filling her heart.She gathered Moonkit and Stonekit close to her and led them to their nest.She glanced around but not seeing her daughter,she decided that she was probably with Starwing.That's the only cat Leafkit ever talked about.
Stonekit looked over at where frostkit and Willowkit were with their mother.
"Close your mouth,your drooling on the nest!"Moonkit muttered from beside him,startling him out of his trance.He closed his mouth,his ear tips growing hot with embaressment.
Lilytail paded over to Riverstar,frowning sadly at the lives lost."Is there anything i can do to help?Maybe i can take some of the others hunting?"She asked.
ReplyDelete"Jump! Roll! Kick! Land! Swipe!" Honeyblaze ordered the apprentices. Today was a whole day of training. Not that Sterlingpaw ever minded trainging, but today, she frowned at the orders her mentor gave to her. She haven't been feeling well since yesterday. Her head was always feeling light, she can't think clearly and she was always tired.
ReplyDelete"Is there anything wrong?" Honeyblaze asked her gently.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Sterlingpaw muttered.
What else was she suppose to tell her mentor? Oh, I am not feeling well today, can I skip training?! Her head might not be thinking clearly but she certainly wasn't stupid!
"You okay today?" Blossompaw asked Sterlingpaw.
Sterlingpaw shrugged.
"What does that mean?" Blossompaw demanded.
Sterlingpaw realised that she was not going to get Blossompaw to go away if she was not going to answer to her question.
"Hey look, I am fine and now stop annoying me!" she snapped and stalked away before Blossompaw could reply.
"Actually there is something you can do," Riverstar meowed, looking at Lilytail thoughtfully.
ReplyDeleteShe lept on the HighRock and called, "All cats old enough to hunt, join beneath the HighRock for a clan meeting."
She didn't have to wait that long, everyone was already in the clearing mourning for the lost.
So Riverstar started. "It's been a hard time for WaveClan lately, but life goes on around us," she said. Then Riverstar looked up to the heavens and said, "I say these words before StarClan, that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of WaveClan is Lilytail."
There were some uneasy murmurs but soon that became mews of congrats and cats crowded Lilytail.
Blossompaw bristled up. "You don't have to be so harsh!!!" she called after Sterlingpaw.
But if he heard her, he showed no signs.
Um..... Riverstar.... I am a girl?!
DeleteLilytail looked up at Riverstar in surprise,but her surprised expression soon turned into one of determination."I'm honored Riverstar.I promise i'll do my best,to be a deputy the clan can be proud of."she meowed,meaning every word.

"We also have another cat we have to thank and honor," Riverstar went on. "Dewthorn as our new medicine cat when we need one,"

Then Riverstar looked down at her. "Thank you for being the brave soul. We're going to need you a lot in the future," she meowed. "We owe you our lives."
Near the nursery, Leafkit looked at the new comer in wonder. Without Starwing, it will never be the same. Will it?
Leafkit frowned and sighed but decided all the same to try to get to know Dewthorn.She looked up at the sky,her thoughts swirling in a storm.Oh Starwing,i wanted to be as great a medecine cat as you were...but now...I don't even know if i should be a medecine cat.Can't you send me a sign?Something to show me what i'm ment to be?She asked silently.
ReplyDeleteMoonkit watched her sister from afar curiously.Why would she want to be anything BUT a warrior?She asked herself,sitting with her tail curled neatly around her paws.
Stonekit sat beside his sister,gazing dreamily at Frostkit,abluvious to anything else.
Lilytail smiled and noded respectfuly to Dewthorn."I hope you'll serve our clan for many moons to come Dewthorn."She meowed.
Riverstar stepped down and found Lilytail.

Frostkit smiled and waved her tail shyly to Stonekit.
Stone blinked his in surprise and grinning waved back.He turned taward Moonkit."Did you see that?She waved at me!"He mewed excitedly.Moonkit just looked at him as if he had to heads.

SnowKit looked around camp feeling uncomfortable. "Nobody ever plays with me...." she muttered.

Moonkit paded over to Snowkit smiling."Sorry about my littermates.I'm Moonkit.I can play with you if you want."She told her denmate.

"It's not even sunrise yet!" she complained. "Come on! Let's go!" Snowkit pleaded. "Alright..." Moonkit replied.

"Woah!" exclaimed SnowKit. "I never knew the world was THIS big!" she gasped.
ReplyDeleteWhen they reached the FlameClan border SnowKit took a sniff. Hmm.. She said. "What?" moonKit asked. "I smell my sister! What has she been doing on the FlameClan border?" SnowKit asked, surprised. "And I smell another scent.. Not FlameClan.. More like a loner." she wondered. "Maybe she was just chasing the loner off?" MoonKit suggested. "No. The scents are fresh. I'll keep a watch on my sister.... Let's go back to the den before your mom realizes your gone." she meowed.
The kits headed back to camp.

Stonekit was working hard to impress Frostkit, but Frostkit deosn't look interested.
Snowkit walked over to Stonekit. "Haven't you noticed that Frostkit wnts to be left alone sometimes? I mean.. you can still attempt to impress her.. but she needs personal space too." she requested.

Stonekit paded away tawards the nursery,tail and ears drooping.
ReplyDeleteBluefire watched Stonekit come in. "Oh little kit, you're to young to worry about love. Your only worry should be what's to ear for supper," she moewed licking her paws.

Riverstar thought about the cats that Lilytail suggested. Then she nodded. "I'm afraid to send out the cats but we must. Bloodpaw's wipeing us out slowly...."
Lilytail thought about this, "If they don't want to go don't make them."
"Excatly."
Snowkit bounced up to Dovepaw. "Oooh! Why are you in here?" she asked. "Because I wanted to play with you of course! You can bring your friends too if you want." she replied.
ReplyDeleteSnowkit hopped off to ask the other kits if they would like to play. They were all in a circle talking to each other. "HEY GUYS!! Wanna play with my sister?" she asked hopefully.
Moonkit thought for a moment and then noded."Ok."She mewed and smiling.
ReplyDelete"Dovepaw taught us a new game. She called it.... what was it? Oh yea! Grass Hoop! I love it!" Snowkit boasted to Moonkit's mom. After the game of Grass Hoop, (which they had no idea what a "hoop" was until the game, Dovepaw said it was a round object.), the kits ran off to tell everybody about it.
DeleteSnowkit sat on the small thin, high, ledge that she had found especially for this occasion. Dovepaw sat next to her. They stared at the stars for a while until Snowkit broke the silence. "Dove, do you ever look up at the stars and wonder if Tiger is up there? I know he doesn't know what Starclan is, but, maybe he is up there." she asked her sister. "I don't know. He might still be alive. We don't know. After the horse attack......" she trailed off plunged into memories. The blood, the hooves, the death. Clearly Snowkit started remembering also, and started wailing. "Hush Snow. It's ok. Shhh. What's done is done. Mom and dad aren't coming back, and we cant change that." she reassured her sister. The memories came again, She watched the floor of the barn, covered with her parent's blood. Them, dead, motionless on the floor. Snowkit, just born, mewling for milk. Dovepaw was only a kit named Dove. "Tiger..." she slowly whispered. Cradling her sister in her arms, trying to lull her asleep. "Mom and dad dead, and Tiger either dead or lost." she sighed. She looked up at the sky and shouted, "WHYY! WHY DID THEY HAVE TO DIE!?" she shouted. She thought for a minute on who to ask for help, then remembered. "Ivy! Yes! That's who will feed Snow! Yes! Yes! She will live!" she meowed. She picked up Snow by her scruff and dragged her to the barn down the road. She peeked her head in. Dove slowly started the story on her, mother, father, and brother's death.
ReplyDeleteShe got snapped back into reality. Her sister meowed; "Well, i don't know about you. But I think Tiger is still alive. After all, you two were born on the same day!" Dovepaw ignored her. "Now come on. We better be getting back to the nursery. Tell one of the queens to come and get me if you are having bad dreams again. I love you. Bye." she prompted.
P.S. This was basically just explaining Dovepaw and Snowkit's story and why they are both scared of horses. There is more to it but that is basic.
Echoleaf looked up and smiled as Snowkit paded into the nursery.Stonekit,Moonkit and Leafkit were already fast asleep beside her.

"Yes," Riverstar nodded. "Bring them to my den," the leader thought about what she wanted to say to the warriors.

Lilytail nodded and paded out of Riverstar's den.She paded into the clearing.One by one she found the cats chosen for the patrol and sent them to Riverstar's den.
ReplyDeleteSnowkit padded up to the leaders den with another tabby tom kit behind her. It looked like she was dragging him. "Riverstar! I heard a noise, then found this kit behind the nursery!" she meowed. "Little kit, whats your name? And who is your mother?" Riverstar asked. "I-I'm Tigerkit and Fawnpelt of Forestclan is my mother." he squeaked.
ReplyDeleteTigerkit and fawnpelt are my cats. I just thought It would be fun to have Snowkit find Tigerkit.
"What are you doing here kit?" Riverstar tried to sound firm but sweet. "Your a long time from home Tigerkit," she meowed and licked Snowkits ears. "Good find, you'll be a good apprentice soon."
ReplyDelete"Thank you Riverstar." Snowkit meowed and then backed out of the den. "I-I I was only exploring. I didn't know this was clan territory." Tigerkit squeaked.
ReplyDelete"Are you going to keep me here?" he wailed.
Just until the gathering tonight. We'll bring you home," the leader said. Then she yowled and crouched.
ReplyDelete"Riverstar what is it?" Lilytail meowed, coming to her side.
"I think my kits are coming!"

ReplyDeleteSuddenly Riverstar felt a pelt press against her and a tounge rasp over her ear. She gasped slightly as she looked to see Jetstream crouching right beside her.
"you'll be fine. I'll be right here beside you. Always." Jetstream whispered in Riverstar's ear, smiling charmingly at her. His eyes were alight with pride and love, and he curled his tail around her protectively. The stars in his pelt shimmered and shined, the only sign that reminded them all that he wasn't the Jetstar they knew.
Jetstream.." Riverstar's eyes grew wide. "I've missed you and so have are kits," she meowed quietly.

Dewthorn came in carrying a bush of herbs in her mouth.
IN THE NURSERY
ReplyDeleteTigerkit layed down. He was bored. The only kit that would talk to him even a little bit was Snowkit. And she didn't even like to.
He sat up as Snowkit walked through the nursery entrance and brought him a fish. "Thanks." he muttered. He was still not used to fish. He was used to land prey, like mice. Snowkit sat down a tail-length away from him, and started eating her fill. He knew they were only a couple sunrises apart. He had heard she was almost an apprentice, so he knew he was almost an apprentice too. "Except my apprenticeship is probably going to be delayed because I snuck out." he thought.
(Wait isen't Snowkit younger then Echoleaf and Bluefire 's kits?)
ReplyDeleteLeafkit sighed and sat beside her brother sadly,knowing that her dream of being medecine cat would probably never come true now.Stonekit mean while was watching Frostkit a dreamy look in his eyes.
Moonkit paded over to Snowkit and Tigerkit."Hi Snowkit and Tigerkit...Right?"She asked smiling.
Echoleaf watched the kits from outside the nursery glancing tawards Riverstar's den every now and then.Her eyes glowing with worry for her leader.
Lilytail looked over at Dewthorn and then back at Riverstar."Your doing great Riverstar."She mewed incourigly.
"Yea. I'm allowed to leave now. I've gotta go back to my own clan. I NEED to." he meowed. He said good-bye to all his new friends and left the camp.

Riverstar heaved and 2 kits slipped out quickly. One was a boy that was a silver tabby with blue eyes and the other was a girl, another silver tabby with hazel eyes. Then the last one, a white tom with blue eyes.
ReplyDeleteRiverstar lay her head back, so tired, and let them nurse.
Lilytail smiled softly as she watched the little kits suckle.She looked at Riverstar,"Congradulations Riverstar."She purred softly before padding out of Riverstar's den to let her rest.

(Her dream won't come true because she wanted to be the medecine cat before dewthorn,'s apprentice.Plus Snowkit wants to be a medecine cat to so she's decided to be a warrior and let her den mate be medecine cat apprentice.After all it wouldn't be the same without the medecine cat she looked up to.)
"Lilytail?" Riverstar called after her. "Like I was going to say before I was inturrupted by these 3. You need to take my place until I'm fit again. You can send the patrol out when your ready," she called.
ReplyDeleteShe looked down at her kits. 'I hope your are a sign that things will get better again' she thought.
'The silver tabby with green eyes will be Wildkit, The silver tabby with blue eyes will be Bluekit, and the white tom... will be Jetkit...' she thought again and thought she smelled Jetstream and he approved.
Lilytail flicked her tail to show she heard her as she stepped into the clearing,she gestered Caveclaw over to her and he paded over to her."Can you lead a border patrol Caveclaw?Take Dovepaw and anyone else you want with you."She mewed.
ReplyDelete"Alright."He mewed and paded over to the warriors sharing togues and eating near the warriors den.She looked around and finaly paded over to were leafstorm was sharing a rabbit with her sister Echomist."Can you each lead a hunting patrol?"She asked.
They noded,"Who do you want us to take?"Leafstorm asked her.
"Anyone you want."She replied and looked around for Sunbeam.She finaly found her,and asked her to asses Rowanpaw's fighting.After a few moments of talking about Riverstar and her kits,Lilytail paded over to the freshkill pile and picked up a mouse.She lay down near the warriors den and began eating it.
IN THE PATROL
ReplyDeleteDovepaw spots a pigeon. "Caveclaw. Should I hunt it even though it's a border patrol? It's pretty juicy." she asked.
Caveclaw nodded. "The great thing about border patrol is that you can hunt and eat if you want to as long as you keep up though," he meowed to his apprentice.

Silversky spotted the deputy outside of the warriors den when he stepped out of the nursery. He loved his new brothers and sister. But he worried for Jetkit. He was so small... and he looked just like him. I knew he was going to be like Jetstar in everyway already.
ReplyDeleteThe white tom grabbed something from the pile and padded over to Lilytail.
"Mind if I join you?" he said blushing a little.
Cinderfrost looked at Wildkit. "Dad would've loved them...." and Brairstep nodded. "I remember when dad came into the nursery that day... I miss him.."
Riverstar looked up at them and swept her tail over the suckling kits. "I know we all do," she meowed soothingly. "I need at least one of you to come everyday. They're going to find out about Jetstar and I know they will be upset."
Lilytail looked up at Silversky,smiling broadly."Not at all!"She mewed.Hoping he couldn't see her blushing at her overly eager sounding voice,she took another bite from her mouse.She swallowed and then turned tawards him smiling more normaly,"What do you think of your new siblings?"She asked.
ReplyDelete"They're really great," he meowed. "Pity that Jetstar isn't still alive," he meowed.
ReplyDelete"Yeah." Lilytail smiled warmly.
"We should keep an eye on Jetkit though," he trailed off. "So when is the Bloodpaw patrol going out?"

ReplyDelete"yeah... I'll come in again tomorrow, mom." he promised, smiling and brushing his tail over his new brothers and sister. He thought back to when they were born, and smiled when he thought of how Jetstar had come back to stand at Riverstar's side, like he had promised he always would.
'I'll be just like him one day.' Cinderfrost thought determinedly.
Forestfire flicked his ears as he came in through the entrance with a rabbit dangling from his jaws.
Lilytail sighed and frowned."As soon as the're ready i'm afraid."She mewed,hating to think of what Bloodpaw might do to her clanmates."Riverstar told them that she wouldn't force anyone to go,so they still have to make up the're minds probably."She mewed.She looked at silversky and tried to hide the relief she felt at his not being chosen for the patrol by looking away,and finishing her freshkill.
ReplyDelete"Well if anyone refuses, I'll be fine with going," he meowed.
ReplyDelete"No no no! It's alright really!" Lilytail instested.
"I want to go," Silversky said, taking the last bite of his prey. "I like to searve my mother's clan. When my dad died I realized that protecting my loved one's is all that I want..." he trailed off.
Lilytail looked at him in awe.
"Hey you two," Riverstar scolded Wildkit and Bluekit, they'd run out of the den and came back with a battered up thrush. "What have I told you about playing with your food? Come on now your nearly 2 moons old."
Jetkit cowarded into his mother's side shyly.
"You should play with your brother," their mother flicked her tail.
Bluekit rolled her eyes and Wildkit said, "But mother you don't understand. He's to small to play the games we play and too weak to fight."
Suddenly the song of Bloodpaw rang in her ears, making her strict. "You will play with Jetkit," she nudged Jetkit their way.
Lilytail smiled softly,but worry shined in her eyes.She didn't want to loose Silversky.And if he desided to go on the patrol,then she wouldn't be able to go with him either.She had to stay with the clan till Riverstar resumed her duties.That would be the worst part,not knowing wether he was safe or not.She sat up,and gave her head a small shake,of course he'd want to go,she even admired the fact.She eventualy found herself nodding."If you realy want to go,we could talk to Riverstar."She mewed reculently.
ReplyDeleteDovepaw walked into the nursery. "Come here Snowkit." she meowed. Snowkit dropped her ball of moss and came over to her sister. "What?" she asked.
ReplyDelete"I am going to become a warrior!" Dovepaw meowed.
"Yay! Dovey is a warrior! Dovey is a warrior!" Snowkit chanted and hopped.
"Congrats Dovepaw!!" Bluekit and Wildkit scampered over, Jetkit stayed by Riverstar's side.
ReplyDelete"There's also a little kit who's to be apprenticed," Riverstar meowed warmly and she got up and padded to the clearing.
"All cats old enough to hunt, gather beneath the HighStone to hear what I have to say!" she called, her kits watching from the nursery."
